Martha Stewart's Appetizers: 200 Recipes for Dips, Spreads, Snacks, Small Plates, and Other Delicious Hors d'Oeuvres, Plus 30 Cocktails by Martha Stewart
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I really enjoyed reading through this book. The pictures are amazing each one looks so good you just want to eat it right off the page. The recipes themselves are all well written and everything is in easy to understand English. The recipes are so easy to follow that a chef with no prior knowledge could make most of these recipes without much difficulty. I personally greatly enjoyed making and tasting the spiced nuts recipe.

Prayers for New Brides: Putting on God's Armor After the Wedding Dress by Jennifer O. White
Prayers for New Brides: Putting on God's Armor After the Wedding Dress by Jennifer O. White
My rating: 1 of 5 stars
I did not enjoy reading this book I found the book outdated. It would have been a good book before women obtained their own freedom. This book gives the feel that the wife will never be perfect, but should do her best to serve her husband and keep him happy. The book cautions divorce only as a last resort even when in an abusive relationship. If you are in an abusive relationship do NOT wait for him to change get help and get out. I was really hoping that this book would have been uplifting and happy instead I found it rather depressing.
I was sent a complimentary copy of Prayers for New Brides: Putting on God's Armor After the Wedding Dress by Jennifer O. White for free in exchange only for my honest and unbiased review of the book.

Treat by Stephanie Banyas
Treat: 50 Recipes for No-Bake Marshmallow Treats by Stephanie Banyas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I am not a professional baker is fact I would not even call myself a hobby baker, but I do enjoy occasionally baking something sweet to enjoy. I even share sometimes so when I saw this book I thought it would be a good change to make some new treats for myself and others. I was very right this book has 50 different recipes, now I have not make them all yet, but I have made a few. The ones that I did make looked and tasted wonderfully. I especially enjoyed the vanilla marshmallows. Overall this book is well written using easy to understand language; it also has some awesome pictures. This would be a good book for any baker and a great gift for anyone who enjoys baking.

Japanese Woodblock Print Workshop A Modern Guide to the Ancient Art of Mokuhanga by April Vollmer
Japanese Woodblock Print Workshop: A Modern Guide to the Ancient Art of Mokuhanga by April Vollmer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I found this book both interesting and confusing. I twas interesting in that it provide how to elements, background information, and history on the techniques. It was confusing in that I had no prior knowledge on this subject and I was thrown in the deep end. This book is perfect for anyone with a medium to advanced level of knowledge, but not for a no knowledge beginner. The book did a good job with combining history, fact, and how to in a way that someone would walk away with everything they needed to know. It also has vocabulary words defined and an index for easy search.
