However what Oil Painting Essentials by Gregg Kreutz is not is a beginners book. Oil Painting Essentials by Gregg Kreutz teaches the reader some of the finer aspects of oil painting like how to do portraits in a realistic fashion. However it does not walk you through everything from drawing it to painting. Instead it just gives you the important tips on how to improve. So while Oil Painting Essentials by Gregg Kreutz is a good book for those with a grounding in oil painting it is not for a complete and total novice oil painter.
